ORIGIN • 2020
This project was a Case Study for Origin, a Financial Wellness Solution. Origin's mission is to support every financial journey, every step of the way, combining real financial planning pros with cutting-edge technology to help people gain control of their finances and plan for the future.

ROLE & MAIN ACTIVITIES
This project was a Case Study made as part of the hiring process for the role of SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER. Through the exercise, I tried to perform the Design Process as a whole - covering UX and UI phases, dividing them into five steps: 1) Understanding the Company, 2) Understanding the Business, 3) Understanding the User, 4) Ideating, and 5) Defining.
Financial wellness is not just about getting rid of problems like credit cards or student debt. It is also – and arguably mainly – about fulfilling your dreams.
Some of us want to buy a car. Some of us want to take a vacation. Some of us want to have a baby. Every single one of us wants something.
That is especially true given one of Origin's personas, an upper-middle-class 32-year-old designer who lives in San Francisco and works for a venture-backed tech startup.
This person makes enough money to save and live comfortably but wants to better understand where their money is going and how to more effectively save for their future.
PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS
Origin wants to help people plan for their future by helping them understand how to better save money and where to allocate these savings, to do so, this person could:
See historical patterns of how much money they have spent, how much money they have made, and how much money they have saved;
Receive a recommended budget that tells them how much they should be spending each month and how much they should be saving, based on their income;
Set a monthly spending budget and see the current month's spending compared to the budget. All of this is in a friendly and instructional web-based platform.
